Caramels: Take 1

What a great four days:

  • A fantastic Thanksgiving
  • A cord of wood delivered
  • A cord of wood stacked
  • Nature hikes
  • Much needed R & R.
  • Attempt 1 of caramel making
  • Layer Bars

I followed the recipe in the December 2012 issue of Martha Stewart Living.

They came out too soft, so I guess I didn’t have the mixture up at temp long enough.

I then tried to reheat the mixture but then it was too hard.

I did salvage enough to make some caramel popcorn so it wasn’t a complete flop.

I will try again :)
