November

Thomas and I celebrated our anniversary a little different that year. We were in a hospital room, admiring the miracle that had happened the night before. It was our four year anniversary. We were joyously holding our baby boy and realizing how our lives had just become so much more fulfilling. There was a new meaning to life. We were forever changed.

This year our anniversary falls on election day and this year Ethan will be nine years old. It’s so cliche but really, where did nine years go?

A Garfield cake is gracing our table this year and seven of his closest friends are bouncing their way to happiness.

We should all be so lucky. A healthy, bouncing baby boy and a dependable and loyal best friend (who just so happens to be my husband).

November is a month of reminders. A reminder that life is precious and God is good. He has given me all I need to be the person I was meant to be. A faithful and loving wife. A nurturing and virtuous mother. I am so very thankful.

  1. Hi Jodi, what a beautiful job you did making Garfield, I know I have told you so many times before how so proud I am of you and all that you have accomplished over the years. This is a great story you just put on your blog. I remember 9 years ago too, when Ethan was born. I also remember 13 years ago when you and Tom got married down by the water on a very crisp cool day!!!!!. Happy Anniversary to you both and many, many more. You are a wonderful couple and you are wonderful parents to my great grandson, Ethan…Keep up the good work and continue what you are doing, you will go far. You are so very talented and creative in so many ways. We love you all so very much and miss you!!!!!

  2. This was really beautiful and inspiring! So often, we forget to honor the truly amazing work people are doing as parents and loving partners, building the loving families that create loving communities…and a more loving and peaceful world. I’m so blessed to have you as my cousin! A true inspiration. Enjoy your anniversary!
